Mixing
With a combination of our state-of-the-art DAW system, DSP powered plugins, and classic SSL mixing console, we build the right balance from your recorded material to make it stand out amongst the best in the business.
We regard mixing is an art form in itself, and when undertaken by a professional engineer with years of experience, working in an accurate sonic environment, your music will translate properly from the studio into the real world with the added assurance that it will sound just as good wherever it’s played out.
Runway’s engineers have a collective experience of over 40 years, and our mixing room has been tuned professionally and boasts the additional use of Trinnov acoustic corrective technology, ensuring that we are able to offer a better quality of mix down for a varied range of musical styles.
This as an additional service to recording but can included as part of a package deal if the session was done at Runway, which would always be our recommendation. This is so that we can guarantee the quality of the raw material all the way from the ground up to the mix.
With this in mind, mixing is normally charged by the song or project rather than by the hour, and with your choice of engineer, the rate can vary depending on your exact requirements.
Regarding what we would describe as our “Online Mixing” service, where you can send us your pre recorded session, generally we would not quote until receiving it. This is so that we can assess what work needs to be done in order to meet your exact expectations.
In our experience we have had varied results depending on whether the mix session has been attended by the artists or we’ve been left to undertake the works alone. Of course we would advocate for maximum input from all involved so everyone is welcome, but we’ve found that on occasion, time can be better used when we’re working to a more fluid schedule, and that increased productivity can be passed onto to the client making it a more cost affective solution.
As always, we’d suggest that coming in for a chat beforehand is always the best practice to figure out which way to achieve your final goal.
